Her name is Jessie and she is 8 months old. She is a dovermin, german shepard, lab mix.
If anyone knows how to get a dog to stop chasing its tale I am all ears?
Jessie is so crazy for her tale. To the point that she is loosing her hair on the tale.
One thing already tried was buying her Toys ask JOY!!! It did not work.

Jessie's gorgeous!! I once spoke to a German Shepherd breeder who had a dog with the same problem - they tried everything including anxiolytics, antidepressants, and antipsychotics - seriously, everything you would do for a person with OCD. They ended up putting the dog down because her life was so completely miserable due to her uncontrollable obsession. Not that I'm trying to scare you!!! I'm sure Jessie's not near that bad!
Well my dad says that she licks the walls so much that she has lead poisoning and thats why she is the way she is. So I have an OCD and learning disabled Dog. How funny.... :0) I like that!!!!
In all honesty, my theory is that your dog is suicidal. She licks the walls only in hope that some day she will in fact die of lead poisoning. Until then, however, she must do what she can to relieve her pain. My analysis is that the dog treats her tail as a cutter would treat their arm. To top it all off, she pretends to be a happy-go-lucky dog in order to cover up her depressed little heart. Unfortunately her white tail is starting to proove that she does have a serious problem with personal body abuse!
